Production and the environment

All OSRAM products are made using environmentally friendly methods of production. Around the world, OSRAM continually monitors its production techniques for environmental compatibility and develops new manufacturing processes.

Qualified Environment, Health and Safety Officers support our management and employees in all plants. In regular meetings and workshops held in the U.S. as well as in Asia and Europe they exchange experiences and develop new ideas for improvements. Our systematic Environmental Management meets the international standard for environmental management systems ISO 14001:2004 and creates legal certainty as well as a continuous improvement of our environmental performance. Beyond the protection of the environment, safety at work and health protection as well as preventive fire protection and disaster control are also integrated in our management system.

Data on the environment

In order to continually ensure that OSRAM environment protection objectives are achieved, all environmental data is systematically recorded. Data from all OSRAM plants is regularly collected and used to compile comprehensive reports on the amount of materials and energy consumed.
